2023 Lake Homes Realty Summit

Lake Homes Realty Celebrates 11th Annual National Agent Summit

October 10-12 marked the 11th annual National Agent Summit for Lake Homes Realty. Lake specialists from around the country traveled to Birmingham, Alabama for a week of learning and networking. Consistent marketing, advantages of building a team, industry news, and more were among the topics discussed in this year’s gathering. But the Summit, wasn’t all business, as many of the agents can attest to.

“Agents all across the country come together and not only collaborate with great ideas, but build a huge referral network … We have pretty fabulous fellowship at night, and we’re a group that likes to have a lot of fun and not take ourselves too seriously while we’re learning from each other,” agent Tiffany Hazelwood says about the National Agent Summit.

2023 also served as the first Summit with new sister brokerage, Beach Homes Realty. Lake Homes Realty welcomed the new agency, along with 6 of its 10 agents, to join in on the annual event. Together, Lake Homes Realty and Beach Homes Realty host the largest Summit to date, with over 200 agents in attendance. Additionally, over 80 awards were given out to agents during the event, including the agent of the year award.

Kristie Anderson From South Carolina Wins “Agent of the Year” at National Real Estate Summit

To determine the 2023 Splash Award winner, Lake Homes Realty agents were each ranked for performance in six key areas over a 12-month period, starting September 1, 2023, and ending August 31, 2023. Performance areas included the number of transaction sides closed, total transaction volume, net by side commission percentage of closed transactions, list side commission percentage of closed transactions, and percentage increase of year-over-year transaction volume.

“There was a minimum $3.5 million in transaction volume in order to be eligible for consideration for the Splash Award and Kristie far exceeded that amount,” Phillips explained, adding that the total volume represented the final sale price of a property, independent of agent splits or applicable commissions. “Our agents are the ‘special forces’ of the lake real estate niche. Their expertise and talents continue to impress us year after year, and this year’s Summit was the best yet because of all that they do.”

Kristie Anderson of South Carolina has been a finalist for Agent of the Year from Lake Homes Realty for multiple year and came home with the top prize – Splash Award. The Splash Award is given to the company’s overall top-performing agent/agent of the year. Anderson is a lake real estate specialist who was born and raised on Lake Marion, South Carolina, where she specializes in lake real estate. She also sells properties on Lake Moultrie, as well.

“We have wonderful lake real estate agents across the country and I am still in awe of the honor,” said Anderson. “I’m honored, surprised, and thankful for winning this year’s Splash Award because it recognizes my relationships I have with my clients,” she says. “My philosophy is to help guide clients through the process of selling or buy a lake property and offer them local lake expertise,” she says. “Life is a little sweeter waking up at the lake and I want to help clients find or sell wonderful lake homes. Living in the right lake home helps clients live a more relaxed and laidback lifestyle while enhancing their overall quality of life,” she added.

2022 Lake Homes Realty Summit

A New Look at the Lake: Lake Homes Realty Launches New Graphic Identity

At first glance, the Lake Homes Realty new logo is easier to read from a distance while still keeping the lake-focused feel of its earlier version. The lake-focused brokerage launched a new corporate graphic identity package at its National Agents Summit last week in Birmingham, Alabama.

“The basic elements have been transformed to become more readable, cleaner, and easier for our agents to use,” said Mark Griggs, Director of Marketing for Lake Homes Realty. “The house and lake reflection remains in a simplified version, along with the blue and green color palette,” he said. “We added the rotated dot com typography to emphasize our company’s primary communications channel – LakeHomes.com. The new graphic identity and logo have a more modern and high-tech feel while still being true to our roots,” said Griggs. “The bolder design will work well from yard signs and business cards to embroidered specialty items and billboards.”

The graphic identity package was designed in-house by the marketing department at Lake Homes Realty. “Our designers are extremely talented and created hundreds of options over the past year and we were unanimous with our final selection,” said Griggs. Under Griggs’s direction, lead designers were Becky Cullen, Kathleen Stallings, April Levi, and Abby Tucker.

“Our agents were ecstatic with the new look and the continued evolution of the Lake Homes Realty graphic identity,” said Griggs. “A complementary consumer brand with a lake theme was revealed to the agents and will launch publicly in 2023,” said Griggs. “The new consumer items will be along the lines of Salt Life meets Yeti look with a fun lake lifestyle vibe.” All of the artwork for the consumer line is original and was created by April Levi, a graphic designer at Lake Homes Realty and a Birmingham artist. The lake theme graphics feature lake activities in bold colors.

The new corporate graphic identity was launched last week and will be incorporated in marketing initiatives for individual agents and companywide moving forward, including www.LakeHomes.com. “We want to be cost-conscious and environmentally sensitive, so agents can still use their previous materials,” said Griggs. “New items created will have the new look.” LakeHomes.com has more than 10 million views each year and features lake homes and lots on more than 6,000 lakes in 34 states.

Mike Goins From Texas Named “Agent of the Year”

It was a successful event that prepared our people for further success moving forward.”

2019 Lake Homes Realty Agent Summit Awards

Lake Homes Realty recognized 52 real estate agents with awards at its 2019 Agent Summit. These professionals automatically earned Premier Agent designations at the brokerage’s sixth annual Agents Summit, held October 15-17, 2019.

“Our agents are lake realty specialists and industry leaders in the sale of real estate,” said Lake Homes Realty CEO Glenn S. Phillips, “as we grow and add more experienced agents on more lakes, the number of awards increase every year.”

2019 Big Wave and Aqua Award honorees represent the brokerage in 27 states.

Award Criteria and Eligibility

The Agent of the Year designation goes beyond total revenue and recognizes an agent that is not only successful at producing revenue, but who also excels in the real estate business. This agent does all the little things and the big things well.

Agents who sold or exceeded $10 million in total transaction volume were honored as Big Wave Award winners.

By receiving these awards, Lake Homes Realty agents are recognized as the top-producing lake experts in the company.

The Lake Homes Realty Aqua Award was awarded to agents who, in the 12-month evaluation period, sold a total transaction volume of at least $3.5 million up to, but not including, $10 million.

Agents who had not reached this total transaction volume between September 1, 2018, and August 31, 2019, were still eligible to win this award if they had closed at least 20 transaction sides within the period.

In determining the 2019 award honorees, Lake Homes Realty defined total transaction volume as the combined sales price of each transaction, independent of the number of sides an agent represented.

“Put another way, if you were to add up the final price at which each property sold in the last 12 months, whether agents represented a single side or both sides, you would reach the agent’s total transaction volume,” explained brokerage CEO Glenn S. Phillips.

Referral transactions were not taken into consideration when calculating total transaction volume.

Thursday, October 17, began with Glenn S. Phillips interviewing Anoop Mishra, Vice President and Regional Executive of the Birmingham Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Mishra told the attendees that we are presently experiencing a strong labor market with good consumer confidence. Points of concern are the recent slow-down in the real estate sector due to a lack of inventory attributable to the rise in construction costs connected to tariffs and a slight downturn in business confidence. There is some hesitancy as well by those with means who are concerned about the length of the current positive economic run. The fed sees no negative signs at this time and is prepared to reduce rates further if needed.

Awards were provided to outstanding agents based on their previous 12-month sales numbers. The Aqua Award is presented to Lake Homes Realty agents who close a minimum of $3.5 million and up to, but not including, $10 million in total transaction volume between September 1, 2018, and August 31, 2019. The Big Wave Award is presented to Lake Homes Realty agents who closed $10 million or more in total transaction volume between September 1, 2018, and August 31, 2019. There were six winners of this prestigious award.
