Generally a river-run lake, Neely Henry fans out into open water near the dam.

One of Bass Fishing's Best-Kept Secrets

Located between Weiss Lake and Logan Martin Lake, Neely Henry is one of the best-kept fishing secrets in Alabama.

Largemouth bass and spotted bass are most often the targets of anglers on Neely Henry.

Both varieties are close to the top in the state on Neely Henry Lake when it comes to plumpness.

The lake has excellent populations of both largemouth and spotted bass, as well as bluegill and other sunfish, crappie, catfish, striped bass, hybrid and white bass.

And, good news for for the avid fisherman, Neely Henry ranked third statewide in the percent of successful anglers per trip.

Alabama Power maintains three public access sites on the lake.

Alabama Bass Trail Member

Henry Neely Lake is a part of the Alabama Bass Trail, which will hold a series of tournaments beginning next year and crown the state's first official bassing champion.

Community Pride

The Neely Henry Lake Association is an all-volunteer group of people who live on, or sometimes simply enjoy, the lake.

The group aims to protect both the quality and the quantity of the water and promote safe use of the lake.

The Association supports the Renew Our Rivers project and partners with Alabama Power to create new fish habitats.
