Madison, Wisconsin is the capital city of the "Badger State", and is located in Dane County. Known for its mascot, Bucky the Badger, the area prides itself on its mascot and it was inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2006. With a metropolitan population of 660,422 Madison ranks as the second largest city in the state of Wisconsin. Madison has coined the phrase "Lake, City, Lake", due to the waters of Lake Mendota and Lake Monona bordering the capital city on either side. Both lakes are members of the Yahara Chain, claiming all four lakes in the city of Madison.

Fun Fact: The Capitol was built with 43 types of stone from different countries and states. No building is allowed to be taller than the Capitol Dome.
