Anglers looking to toss out a line can find landlocked salmon, lake trout, brook trout, rainbow smelt, golden shiner, common shiner, fallfish, white sucker, banded killifish, threespine stickleback, ninespine stickleback, redbreast sunfish, pumpkinseed sunfish, American eel, and alewife.

A public boat launch exists at the northern end, and many homes have private docks for exploring the water.

Bangor is a very popular city in the state and is home to the “King of Horror,” Stephen King. It also attracts tourists from all over for hosting the American Folk Festival.

Residents and visitors can hike or bike through the one-mile city forest located in a quiet place in the middle of the city.
