The Chewelah Casino, which is only 15 minutes away from Waitts Lake, offers both machine and table games for anyone eager to try their luck as well as food and drinks.

In the Heart of Nature

Little Pend Oreille Natural Refuge, about an hour away, is a 41,568-acre breeding ground for migratory birds. The refuge is home to over 206 unique species including golden eagles, northern goshawks, and even bald eagles. In addition to birdwatching, visitors can view wildlife, go horseback riding and during the winter, go cross country skiing.

An hour and a half away is the Colville National Forest, which is over a million acres. Visitors have many activities to choose from including hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing.
