Ria Lake - Newport real estate is regarded as a beautiful, but lesser known, market in Minnesota for lake homes and lake lots.
Ria Lake is a small lake in Washington County Minnesota which lies within eastern Newport and South of St. Paul. The closest metropolitan city is St. Paul which is 12 or so miles away from the lake. The closest commercial airport is the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport which is about 13 miles away by the fastest route. The closest hospital is M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital which is 4.4 miles away.
Lake Ria is a small 11 acres in size, but that still is enough space for swimming, canoeing, and fishing. Fishing fans can find flathead catfish in this lake despite its small size.
In the area of the lake are several locations that can provide extra fun for the lake’s residents. There are a few parks such as La Lake Park or Victoria Park where one can enjoy the outside spaces and recreational activities. If you are looking more at indoor fun, you could visit the Healtheast Sports Center or the Woodbury YMCA. There are also several unique locations for eating like the North Pole to the west and Akita Sushi and Hibachi to the north. These, however, are only some of the unique locations. The area is also home to national favorites like Texas RoadHouse and Buffalo Wild Wings.
In the nearby St. Paul and Minneapolis, also known as the twin cities, one can find several attractions that’ll entertain and inspire. See charming trains and learn about the impact of the railroad at the Minnesota Transportation Museum. If you’d like something more exhilarating, you can visit Vertical Endeavors and put your rock climbing skills to the test. Animal fans will be happy to know that the city features several zoo and animal experiences such as Snake Discovery: A Reptile Experience, and Como Park Zoo & Conservatory. The city is also home to an iconic statue of Leif Ericson, the first European to travel to America, and there is also a humorous large green chair attraction that makes you look small by comparison. In neighboring Minneapolis, there are also many attractions to enjoy. If you’ve ever thought about getting a closer tour of the Mississippi River, then look no further than the Paradise Lady cruises which tour the Mississippi in all of its glory. It also hosts weddings and corporate outings. Get a feel for the art of Minneapolis by visiting the music wall where an entire wall has been decorated with sheet music. Another similar attraction is the Bob Dylan Mural which serves as a tribute to the great American singer. There is also the Weisman Art Museum whose striking shiny exterior gives an introduction to the abstract art it houses. More interesting locations include the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and the Amazing Mirror Maze just to name a few. The twin cities are home to many more attractions, such as golf courses, restaurants, parks, more museums, and rock climbing experiences.
Lake Ria might be small, but it is conveniently located close to the twin cities of Minnesota. Locations like that are hard to beat and the addition of a lake is an excellent treat. No matter your needs, you’d be hard-pressed not to be inspired by the atmosphere surrounding this little lake.
