Located 45 Miles Northwest of Bangor

Sebec Lake is a scenic drive just 45 miles outside of Bangor, Maine. The charming communities of Dover-Foxcroft, Bowerbank, Sebec, Milo, and Willimantic border the lake.

The Bangor International Airport is 49.2 miles away and the Northern Light Mayo Hospital is 21.6 miles away for easy travel and close medical care.

With 53 miles of shoreline, Sebec Lake covers 6,803 acres. The average depth of the lake is 42 feet, but it is lowered twice a year to help with the population of salmon.

Boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, and kayaking are all popular activities on Sebec Lake.

Fishermen can access Sebec Lake or River from the Milo Public Boat landing and fish for pickerel, bass, trout, and more.

Peaks-Kenny State park has 813 acres that border the lake including campsites, a beach, picnic tables, showers, and restrooms.

Sebec Lake has a view of Mount Katahdin, the tallest mountain in Maine. Katahdin also marks the end of the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail.

The nearby Katahdin Ironworks State Historic Park is home to two landmarks: a 3.5-mile gorge that is part of the Appalachian Trail and a 35-acre section of Maine’s oldest white pines.
