Trego Lake - Trego

Located in Washburn County, Wisconsin

This unique lake snakes its way through the beautiful forests of northwestern Wisconsin. Only an hour and 23 minutes from Eau Claire and two hours and 13 minutes from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Trego Lake offers 383 acres of opportunities for the best parts of lake life.

Fishing and Boating

For fishermen and women of every level, Tripp Lake offers a variety of species to try your luck at, like:

- Sturgeon

There are two public boat landings, one on the south shore of the center of the lake and another on the east end, making it possible for you to enjoy activities like wakeboarding, paddleboarding, water-skiing, and more! Wisconsin Wilderness

Found along the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, the entirety of Trego Lake is protected by the National Park Service. Hikers should check out the Trego Lake Trail to be immersed in the untouched beauty of the surrounding countryside.

Check out Log Cabin Resort and Campground for lakeside lodging, Bay Park Resort and Campground, and Flatwaters Saloon and Campground. The nearby town of Spooner offers more conventional accommodations at the Best Western (11 minutes).

Spooner, the “Crossroads of the North,” is known primarily for The Heart of the North Rodeo. Held every year on the first weekend of June, the seven different events attract thousands of tourists:

- Team roping

- Calf roping

- Barrel Racing

- Bull Riding

- Bronc Riding

- Mutton Busting

Another favorite festival is Jack Pine Savage Days, which offers live music, a fun run, and a basketball, volleyball, and horseshoe tournament

The nearest airport for private flights is the Nest of Eagles Airport 1H9 (14 minutes). The nearest airport offering commercial flights is the Duluth International Airport (1 hour and 30 minutes).

The nearest hospital to help you with all of your medical needs is Indian Head Medical Center (20 minutes). Immediate needs can be addressed by Spooner Health (9 minutes).
