In the city of Phillips, Wisconsin lies Musser Lake, also called Musser Flowage. The lake sits at 503 acres with an average depth of five feet. While the city of Phillips has plenty to do, if you are looking for some new scenery, the city of Worcester is only a 30-minute drive away.

Lake Life

Life on Musser Lake changes by the season. Cold weather brings ice fishing, while warmer months tend to see more traditional lake activities.

The most common fish caught in Musser Lake are panfish, largemouth bass, musky, and walleye. Musser Lake has slow-no-wake areas and regulations that forbid using skis, tubes, towing behind a motor craft, etc., between 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Things to do

Just 30 minutes from Musser Lake is Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. This beautiful attraction covers over one million acres of land, so there is much to explore. The park offers camping, beaches, hiking, and boating.

If you are looking for something for the kiddos and don’t mind going just a little bit further down the road, Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo and Safari have an adventure for everyone. Feeding Encounters and 168 acres of wildlife bring the safari to the lake.

If you want some good food, Musser Lake is the place to be, with 18 family-owned restaurants within less than 20 minutes of the lake. The restaurants at Musser Lake are meant to give a small-town feel and are sure to remind you of your mom’s cooking. So, whether you want burgers or just coffee, there seem to be choices galore.
