A little further out from town, the nearest 24-hour hospital, HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital is about 25 miles from the lake. The closest regional airport, Chippewa Valley Regional Airport is less than 30 miles from the lake.

Life on the Water

Fishing is a common sport in Wisconsin and Lake Eau Claire is the perfect spot for fishing. There’s an abundant amount of walleye and other commonly found fish to catch including musky, panfish, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass. Lake Eau Claire has two boat ramps for a publicly accessible boat landing and is a great location for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, and other water activities for the public. With beautiful, scenic views, it’s the best spot to be.

Popular local tourist attractions include the Dells Mill and Museum with stunning waterfalls and the Wisconsin Logging Museum with exhibits of historical educational value. For a “sprawling park with waterfalls and beaches,” check out Big Falls County Park for a good adventure.

Jurustic Park is a hidden attraction with a very unique sculpture museum, perfect for families. All close to Lake Eau Claire.

For great hiking, you not only have Big Falls County Park for trails, but you will also have Coon Fork Barrens State Natural Area and Beaver Creek Reserve less than 20 miles away. Gorgeous scenic views and well-maintained trails.

For fresh food, specifically freshly ground beef on-site, make sure to go to Vojtik’s Stockyard Food about 20 minutes from the lake- their prime rib is top-notch. Gizmo’s Bar and Grill is 12 miles from the lake and is a great small town for good drinks and late-night snacks.
