Tuckertown Lake takes up 2,560 acres and 75 miles of shoreline. Additionally, it spans across four counties in North Carolina: Stanly, Davidson, Montgomery, and Rowan. For a taste of the city, Charlotte is just an hour’s drive away.

Fun on Tuckertown Lake

Tuckertown Lake guarantees beautiful views, as most of the shoreline is undeveloped and protected by conservation and wetlands areas. This natural beauty is great for fishing. Anglers can find catfish, flathead catfish, largemouth bass, striped bass, sunfish, crappie, and white bass while fishing here! The lake is particularly noted for its vibrant crappie population, however. There are a few fishing piers around the shoreline, and anglers can also cast lines from their boats.

Besides fishing, boating is a popular activity on Tuckertown Lake. These waters are open to all types of boats, so jet skis, power boats, kayaks, and more are fair game! The lake is less busy during the week, providing a peaceful experience during that time. Pontoon boats are also frequently used here, especially as docks since private docks aren’t allowed. In addition, there are three public boat ramps to launch from.

If you want a day in the city, Charlotte is only an hour away from Tuckertown Lake. Charlotte hosts plenty of museums, including the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Visitors can also enjoy the Belk Theater and Carowinds, a fun amusement park!
