Forest Lake is a 573-acre lake and part of the Thousand Hill State Park, just west of Kirksville, Missouri. Columbia is around two and a half hours away.

It is 15 minutes from Northeast Regional Medical Center and two and a half hours from Des Moines International Airport. It is also within 15 minutes from Hy-Vee, ALDI, and Countryside Market.

After a long day at Forest Lake, grab a bite to eat at the Thousand Hills Lakeside Dining Lodge. It is a highly rated lakeside diner that offers a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, steaks, and seafood.
