Sturgeon Lake / Cloquet Area real estate is considered a tight inventory market for lake homes and lake lots in Minnesota.
Moose Lake, Sturgeon Lake, and the Saint Louis River offer various waterfront properties just a few miles west of Lake Superior.
With convenience to Interstate 35, Duluth will be no more than 45 minutes away. Its great list of attractions is known, but it also features the Duluth International Airport and Saint Luke’s Hospital.
The Twin Cities are about two hours south of the lake area on I-35.
Cloquet is a riverside town under 20 miles from Duluth. Its main feature is the Saint Louis River, but it is also home to First, Second, and Third Lakes.
You will find a variety of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and stores around the town. Broadway Street will take you to Dunlap Island, an impressive playground, the Northeaster Saloon & Grill, and a campground.
The Pine Valley Trail System and Cloquet Country Club are on the edge of the city. Black Bear Casino Resort, one of the area’s most fancied attractions, is also nearby.
The town of Moose Lake is about 25 miles south of Cloquet. Moosehead Lake is its most extensive body of water, covering 279 acres.
Moose Lake City Park features a large swimming beach, a playground, a boat launch, and a fishing pier on Moosehead Lake. Visit Moose Lake State Park for easy-to-hike trails, a variety of foliage, and Echo Lake access.
Sturgeon Lake and its town are just south of Moose Lake. The lake boasts exceptionally clear waters with an area of 1,706 acres. It is shallow around the shoreline (perfect for swimming) but reaches depths of 40 feet.
There are several other lakes convenient to I-35 where you can boat, fish, or swim with little to no company. The area’s proximity to Duluth makes it a good location for a full-time residence or vacation home.
