Rice Lake is a small pool in White Bear Township, Minnesota; It is a member of the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes and its attached park. Minneapolis is less than 30 minutes away, and St. Cloud lies a little over an hour away. Anoka county’s namesake comes from the Dakota word “anokatanhan”, which means “on both sides.” This is in reference to the Rum River which snakes through the county. There are a few smaller airfields nearby, but the closest major airport is Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport which is less than 30 miles away. Urgent care can be provided at Mercy Hospital - Unity Campus, 16 minutes away. Snacks and groceries can be found at the local ALDI, five minutes away.
