A Half-Hour from the Twin Cities

Lower Prior Lake is a recreational jewel in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. Its beautiful scenery and proximity to the city have made it popular among the wealthy, but it has properties to suit any income.

Over 1,000 Acres of Water

Prior Lake is made up of an upper and lower basin, together covering 1,340 acres. Lower Prior Lake is the largest and deepest, having a surface area of 925 acres and a maximum depth of 60 feet.

A passage on the southern end of the lake connects it to Upper Prior Lake. Both lakes have a heavily developed shoreline, including homes, marinas, parks, and beaches.

Residents can enjoy all kinds of watercraft boats on the waters: powerboats, pontoons, jet skis, kayaks, canoes, and more. Water skiing, sailing, tubing, windsurfing, and wakeboarding are some of its most exciting activities.

Sandy Point Beach is a large, pristine stretch of sand where you can swim, tan, and relax all day long. It has a large parking lot as well as a boat docking area.

The lakes are regularly stocked with walleye, but they also hold healthy populations of largemouth bass, northern pike, perch, bluegill, and crappie.

Charlie’s On Prior is the perfect place to stop for brunch, dinner, or a cold beverage. They have an indoor dining room, patio, and lakeside bar.
