Lake Sarah is in Greenfield, Rockford, Independence, and Loretto, Minnesota. For a city trip, Minneapolis is around 25 miles away.

The Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport is around 35 miles away, and there are three hospitals within 20 miles: Buffalo Hospital, Maple Grove Hospital, and Abbott Northwestern - WestHealth.

On the Water Fun

Lake Sarah spans 557 acres with a maximum depth of 59 feet, offering plenty of space for lake fun.

Popular activities include boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, and taking in the views. Many homes have docks, but a public access point is on the southwestern side of the water.

The lake is a great place to fish, with over 18 species of fish to catch. Anglers can find black bullhead, bluegill, brown bullhead, green sunfish, largemouth bass, pumpkinseed, northern pike, walleye, white crappie, yellow bullhead, yellow perch, and more.

For fun off the water, there are many preserves and parks that feature walking trails and playgrounds.

Another local favorite is the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. One of the crown jewels of the city’s park system, the garden is a top destination for tourists to enjoy art like the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry.

Finally, for outdoor recreation and scenic nature, check out Minnehaha Park. This is the oldest park in Minneapolis and boasts 193 acres, numerous scenic trails, limestone bluffs, a 53-foot waterfall, picnic pavilions, bike rentals, and an off-leash dog park.
