Mooney Lake is a 124-acre lake located a little over 10 minutes outside of Plymouth, MN. The Dakota tribe of Native Americans inhabited this area for thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans. A man named Antoine LeCounte was the first recorded settler in the area in 1848. Methodist Hospital is the closest hospital 20 minutes southeast in St. Louis Park. The nearest airport, Minneapolis-St. Paul International, is about 30 minutes southeast in Minneapolis.

This lake is less than 10 minutes away from the Lake Minnetonka Chain of Lakes! Minnetonka Lake covers an impressive 14,000 acres, making it the largest lake in the metro area. Its many bays, inlets, and branches give it over 100 miles of shoreline. If you are looking for a good time, boat out to the “Big Island” to join hundreds of other boaters that are drinking, swimming, and listening to music. Other lake activities include water skiing, tubing, sailing, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing.
