Lake Reno is located 12 miles south of Alexandria off of Highway 29. It is found to be a more secluded, peaceful environment with vacant lands surrounding the lake than the rest of the Alexandria lakes.
City amenities like restaurants, hotels, shopping outlets, and the Douglas County Hospital are minutes away.

The Janet Wood Swimming Beach and Public Access are located past the highway 29 bridge on the eastern shore.
Lake Carlos, Lake Darling, Lake Le Homme Dieu, and Lake Ida are famous recreational lakes. Their waters host a variety of lake activities along with fishing tournaments and boat parades.
Lake Darling is the most popular destination for the 4th of July; a grand firework display is put on over the water that draws visitors from Alexandria and the surrounding towns.
