Dutch Lake is a 160-acre lake in Howard Lake, Minnesota. It is connected to Mallard Pass Lake by Twelvemile Creek and is across the road from Howard Lake.

Located around an hour west of Minneapolis, the lake is a short drive from one of the “Twin Cities.” St. Paul, the state capital and the other half of the “Twin Cities," is just an additional 15 minutes to the east.

Similarly, Dutch Lake is around an hour from the nearest airport and hospital: Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.

What to Do On the Water

Avid anglers can expect to look out for northern pike, black crappie, and bluegill. There are also 20 other known species of fish in Dutch Lake.

Residents can enjoy low-speed water sports like kayaking, canoeing, or a relaxing boat ride across the lake.

What to Do Near Dutch Lake

Located less than 10 minutes from Dutch Lake are restaurants like Maria’s Mexican, Trouble’s, Waverly Cafe, and Uptown Bar and Grill. There is also a bowling alley, Lake Bowl, that is seven minutes away.

If residents want to travel a little, there is a lot to do in St. Paul or Minneapolis.

In Minneapolis, travelers can check out the Institute of Art, multiple food and brewery tours, or Minnesota Vikings games at the U.S. Bank Stadium.

In St. Paul, you can go to the State Capitol, the Science Museum of Minnesota, or the Cathedral of Saint Paul.
