Brassua Lake covers approximately 9,000 acres of beautiful shimmering waters and is great for recreational use.

Popular activities on and off the water include boating, hiking, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, swimming, snowshoeing, horseback riding, canoeing, hunting, tubing, wildlife viewing, camping, birding, and relaxing.

Anglers looking to toss out a line will find salmon, brook trout, smelt, white sucker, longnose sucker, blacknose dace, common shiner, creek chub, fallfish, golden shiner, lake chub, pearl dace, redbelly dace, cusk, threespine stickleback, and freshwater sculpin.

There's only one developed boat ramp on the lake for public use at the hydroelectric dam. Launching facilities for larger boats are limited, and no marinas or commercial docking facilities are along the shore.

Located about two hours and 15 minutes away is the city of Bangor.

This is a very popular city in the state and is home to the “King of Horror,” Stephen King. It also attracts tourists from all over for hosting the American Folk Festival.
