Holly Blanchette

Lake Homes Realty

(847) 696-8026

Licensed since 1989, Holly started specializing in waterfront property in 1998. Growing up in the Chicago suburbs and learning to waterski at age 10, Holly looked forward to every opportunity to visit a lake. She has now lived and boated on both the Chain O'Lakes and private lakes in Lake County for over 30 years. This extensive knowledge of the lakes is a great asset in helping her clients find the type of waterfront location that best suits their needs.

Prior to getting her real estate license in 1989, Holly enjoyed teaching junior high English and French and coaching volleyball, basketball and softball; all sports she played herself. Playing competitively in high school, college, and beyond, Holly applies the same skills necessary for success to her real estate career. Taking care of the details, anticipating and proactively solving problems and communicating well are the strengths she brings to each real estate transactions. Holly puts her clients first. Whether representing buyers or sellers, her goal is to make the purchase or sale of a home as easy and stress free as possible. This dedication is evident from her being a Chicago Magazine 5 Star Real Estate Agent award winner, as well as a Hall of Fame realtor.

Holly has been married to her husband, Daryl, for 25 years and they have one son, Tom. Spring and summer, they enjoy water skiing and wakeboarding. Outdoor sports continue in the winter with ice skating and skiing. Her husband is an avid fisherman all year round. Their son, realizing how much he had enjoyed growing up on a lake, made a waterfront location a priority when searching for his own home. Holly would love to help you achieve the same dream for your family.

About Lake Antioch

Below the Illinois-Wisconsin State Border

Lake Antioch is a private lake located in Antioch Township in northeastern Illinois. Sitting just below the Wisconsin state border, Antioch Lake is 88 acres in size and is only one of many lakes in Lake County, Illinois. Antioch Lake lies at the southern end of Antioch Village. This charming community retains its small-town feel while being close to all the services and conveniences of a major metropolitan area.

The shores of Lake Michigan are around 30 mins from this peaceful lake. You can also enjoy a faster pace on the extensive Chain O'Lakes waterway system, which is less than 20 minutes from Lake Antioch.

Fun on Lake Antioch

Antioch Lake is undoubtedly one of the city's larger attractions. Because there is no public access to the lake, boat traffic is meager. This helps keep the lake's peaceful atmosphere intact for residents. Rowing, paddle sports, fishing, and wildlife viewing are the most common activities on the lovely lake, but motorized boats are not allowed.

Fishing is permitted here to many anglers' excitement. Fish species found among Lake Antioch may include sunfish, bluegill, largemouth bass, walleye, crappie, muskie, northern pike, bullhead, catfish, yellow, and white bass.

Some residents and the Friends of Lake Antioch own private swimming beaches that can be accessed by members and guests.

If you are looking to enjoy water sports or fast boats, visit the Chain O'Lakes just down the road.

The Chain O'Lakes Region and Nearby Shops

Nearby is the 840-acre Chain O'Lakes State Park. This park borders three of the Chain lakes and neighbors a 3,230-acre conservation area. Trails for hiking and horseback riding cover the 2,450-acre park, which also offers overnight campgrounds. Hunting is permitted in the season for doves and waterfowl; there is an archery season for deer. Visitors can even have fun in the winter when there are ice fishing and cross-country skiing.

Due to the large size of the 7,000-acre Chain O'Lakes region, there is a plethora of shops, restaurants, vacation rentals, and attractions for the family to enjoy.

The Best Place to Experience Lake Life

Whether you are looking to buy a family home, a full-time retirement residence, or find a vacation rental, Lake Antioch is an excellent choice.
