Wally Cawthon is a real estate expert, specializing in waterfront properties in central Georgia since the early 1990s.

Jackson Lake is by far THE BEST LAKEFRONT VALUE IN THE SOUTH! Offering families a true "On Golden Pond" experience, while enjoying all water sports in a quieter, safer setting. No alligators here, and no big crowds!

Wally lives and works on Jackson Lake. His waterfront real estate expertise will guide you to your perfect lake home, with no surprises after closing! Lakefront property has many idiosyncrasies, including shoreline and building codes, septic systems and many other items that are not common in regular property sales. You will want to choose someone who is a true expert. Wally founded the volunteer Jackson Lake Homeowners Association in 1994 to bring neighbors together all over the lake. What began with a group of about 60 has blossomed to nearly 1,000 members now, a quarterly newspaper, scholarship programs and much more.

Jackson Lake is 100 years old, encompassing 135 miles of shoreline and 2,300 homes. With three rivers and one creek flowing into it, the water level remains consistent year-round. It offers a quiet, natural setting, with nearby state parks, charming towns, and thousands of acres of natural forest to soothe the soul.

Wally and his buyer's agent Charles Sibley have enjoyed Jackson lake since childhood! Waterskiing, paddling the rivers, fishing, floating, swimming, and the latest craze, wake surfing! Wally says, "Our deep personal knowledge of the lakefront marketplace in central Georgia offers our clients a wide range of options for lifestyle and price ranges."

"Every buyer is unique. Our lakes offer million dollar estates as well as weekend getaways in the low 100s. Our personal experience can help you narrow your search for YOUR perfect lake getaway."

If you're looking for lakefront vacation or investment property only a short drive from Atlanta, take a look south of the city. Central Georgia offer some of the best values in waterfront homes in the country.

About Lake Spivey

Lake Spivey is the largest privately owned lake in Georgia, located just 20 miles south of Atlanta. The lake covers up to 600 acres and has a maximum depth of approximately 50 feet. It was formed by Walter Boone Spivey in 1957 after the completion of the dam on Rum Creek.

Originally the lake was open to the public for day use and saw as many as 500,000 visitors per year, but in 1984 the lake was deeded to the Lake Spivey Civic Association. Now lake use is restricted to residents who live on the lake, making Lake Spivey a very private and much sought after real estate location.

Today there are eight residential communities on the lake including: Lake Spivey Estates, Lost Valley, Bay View, South Bay, The Landings, Forest Estates, Edgewater, and North Shore. Each community has a marina or other lake access and docking point located around the lake.

Popular activities on the lake include boating, jet skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, fishing, and swimming. There is a permanent slalom water skiing course located near the dam, and is very popular during the summer months.

Other amenities include the Lake Spivey Golf Club and golf course, local tennis courts, swimming pools, and hiking trails. Fishing is also common, with Lake Spivey being an excellent source of largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass, and large channel catfish. It also holds the Georgia state record for largest black crappie.

Lake Spivey is an ideal location for those looking for exclusive resort living on gorgeous waters, located only minutes away from the heart of Atlanta!
