Owner: One of the things we have enjoyed most about our lake home is that as you step through the door, everything just seems to flow toward the lake. The lake is immediately in view and it seems to draw you out towards the screened porch, overlooking the big deck and beautiful yard...and the beautiful lake. It really just has that lake house feel. We have held many family and friends gatherings here; the house is perfect for that. There are many places to gather and still be connected. Whether hanging out in the kitchen, around the bar, playing a game of pool inside or darts on the porch, or enjoying the view from the deck, you still feel a part of the group. We always said the house has lots of circles and flows really well. The house will sleep a lot of people. We had futons in a couple of the rooms which we pulled out to make beds when needed. We could easily sleep a dozen people on a moment’s notice. The grandkids loved to swim here, as did we. Pretty much every time the lake has gone down, we have cleared the swim area of rocks and sticks, so it has a nice sandy bottom. It is shallow enough near the seawall for the little ones and deep enough off the dock for the older kids to jump and dive. You can sit under the covered dock if you want to get out of the sun. The boathouse storage nearby provides access to lake toys and floatees, extra chairs, etc. It is not a difficult walk back to the house but we kept a small refrigerator in the boathouse for easy access to cold beverages. The screened porch is our favorite place in the house. We have sat there in the evening and enjoyed incredible sunsets and the stillness of the lake or watched the gray lake in a storm. It’s so easy to carry your coffee out there in the morning or eat lunch there in the afternoon and enjoy the lake and listen to the birds. If you enjoy kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding this is a great spot. We can go upriver where there is no boat traffic and lots of nature, or head to the restaurant at Reasor’s Landing and have a cold beverage.
