Clarks Hill Lake is Georgia's largest reservoir and one of the most massive inland water bodies in the South, with more than 71,000 acres and 1,200 miles of a shoreline covered in a mix of pine trees and hardwoods.

More than 100 islands are located across Clarks Hill Lake, which extends 40 miles up the Savannah River valley and 26 miles up the Little River valley.

Fishing, Boating, Hiking, Camping, and More Outdoor Fun

Clarks Hill is a top-rated lake for boating and fishing, but with many open water areas, the lake is rarely crowded. Clarks Hill is a fertile lake known for some of the best bass fishing in Georgia. In addition to largemouth, striped and hybrid bass, channel and flathead catfish, crappie, and sunfish are common.

The Dorn Boating and Sportfishing Facility, the largest boat launching and sportfishing facility in the Southeastern U.S., is among the lake's amenities.

Clarks Hill Lake has many campgrounds among the finest in the East from campers who want every available comfort to those who want to rough it.

The Bussey Point Wilderness recreation area, made up of 2,500 acres located on a peninsula of the lake, has a horseback riding trail to complement its extensive hiking and mountain biking trails.
