Lake Richard B. Russell, also known as Lake Russell, is on the Georgia-South Carolina state line. It is located about an hour and forty minutes from Greenville, South Carolina, and two and a half hours from Atlanta, Georgia.
This 26,650-acre lake was created in 1985 by the US Army Corps of Engineers to provide flood control from the Savannah River.
