Both ice fishing and regular fishing are popular on Shepard Lake. Common fish include northern pike, largemouth bass, musky, and walleye. Bass are allowed on a catch-and-release basis.

What To Do

Just five minutes down the road from Shepard Lake, the town of Rhinelander is known for its roadside attractions. The Hodag and The Rhinelapus are both unique roadside attractions that draw hundreds of people a day. Both statues are modeled after cartoon versions of dinosaurs, so this quick and easy attraction is perfect for those cute pictures of the kids.
