For the hiking lovers, 10 miles from the lake you can walk the trails of the Madeline Hiking Trail or the Bearskin Trailhead Park. Both have great trails year-round as there are skiing trails too. Appealing scenery and wildlife on these trails also.

There are so many great spots to dine within 10 minutes of Lake Fence; however, there are some local favorites that are a must to check out. Bad Bones BBQ has the best barbeque in town. Flame Restaurant is known for its beautiful lakefront view and good eats, plus even better drinks. The Northfork Fin & Filet is a good spot for surf ‘n’ turf.
