Plummer Lake

Lewis County, Washington

Plummer Lake is a nearly 20-acre lake resting east of Highway 12 in the suburb of Centralia, Washington. Plummer Lake is located just over one mile from Providence Centralia Hospital and just under 76 miles from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The Meeting of the Waters

Plummer Lake has been stocked with rainbow trout since 1953. Other warm water fish such as Bluegill, Largemouth bass, and Yellow perch can also be caught here from the shoreline.

Wagner Park is located on the northeast shore, offering beautiful views and a space for dogs and picnicking.

Plummer Lake neighbors the Skookumchuck River which offers pristine steelhead fishing in late winter. The “Skook” is also home to rainbow trout, resident and sea-run cutthroat trout, as well as coho salmon.

The Skookumchuck River feeds into the Chehalis River just a short walk west from Plummer Lake. The Chehalis River is one of the best rivers in western Washington to catch Fall Salmon. Upstream anglers can hook steelhead, and sturgeon can be found in the estuary. Several boat ramps can be used to access the Chehalis by drift boat or jet sled.

Seminary Hill Natural Area borders the east side of Centralia. This 73-acre urban natural area provides gorgeous views overlooking the city and provides over two miles of hiking trails.

A Day in the City

The city of Olympia is just under 25 miles from the Plummer Lake Area. Olympia is the site of the Washington State Capitol, as well as family-friendly attractions such as the award-winning Hands On Children’s Museum.

The city is also the home of dozens of green spaces and city parks, including Percival Landing next to the waterfront. The city also hosts an eclectic list of dining and shopping options to keep visitors going throughout the day.
