Lake Tapps is a 2433.10-acre lake in Pierce County, Washington near Tacoma. Lake Tapps is open year-round and has good fishing opportunities for largemouth and smallmouth bass as well as tiger muskies. More fish species you may catch include yellow perch and black crappie.

Recreation

Lake Tapps Park is on the northeast end of Lake Tapps and is a lovely area for walking, picnicking, and even swimming. Lake Tapps Park also has a breathtaking view of Mt. Rainer!

Tapps Island Golf Course is a 9-hole course, perfect for recreation. The course is located within Lake Tapps, giving a water aspect to the sport along with a gorgeous view.

Along with the course is the Island Lodge restaurant which is a community favorite! Island Lodge uses local ingredients and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Local Necessities

Lake Tapps is conveniently close to hospitals, grocery stores, and airports.

The MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital, MultiCare Sumner Medical Associates private hospital, and the MultiCare Auburn Medical Center are all within 11 miles of the lake.

The north end of Lake Tapps has a Haggen grocery store and southwest of the lake on WA-410 is Grocery Outlet, Safeway, Fred Meyer, and Walmart Supercenter.

The Auburn Municipal Airport is 7.1 miles from the lake and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is only 24.7 miles from the lake.
