Between Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish

Lake Boren is a 16-acre body of water located in Newcastle, Washington. It rests inside of the beautiful Lake Boren Park and is beloved by the community. Lake Boren has long been a community gathering place and was used as a swimming hole in the 1800s.

This peaceful lake is excellent for everyday use, but it is also in a prime location. All within a few miles radius of Lake Boren is Lake Sammamish, Lake Washington, Seattle, and the Puget Sound city.

Fishing

Are you looking to spend a peaceful day fishing? Lake Boren will not be a disappointment. You can find brown bullhead, coastal cutthroat trout, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, and yellow perch. Boating is not permitted on Lake Boren, but shoreline access at the park is excellent. There is also a fishing pier for you to try your luck!

Lake Boren not only has entertainment for the city folk, but there are also plenty of parks nearby for nature lovers. Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park is just a few miles east of the lake and is connected to Squak Mountain State Park by Cougar-Squak Corridor Park. The 3,000-acre park has over 35 miles of trail that wind through streams, wetlands, cliffs, and nearby caves.

Of course, if you are looking to spend time on a more massive lake, Lake Washington is the largest lake in King County and covers 21,600 acres. You can enjoy boating, swimming, paddling, fishing, and more on this nearby lake.
