Forbes Lake is between two other lakes to the east and the west: Lake Sammamish and Lake Washington. Sitting just outside of Seattle and the area around the lake is highly developed. Forbes Lake is in between multiple cities and lakes; in addition to its proximity to Seattle, there are activities aplenty near the lake.

One of the more popular attractions in the area is southeast of the lake at Marymoor Park, located on Lake Sammamish's northern shoreline. The park is the most popular in King County, with over 3 million annual visitors. The park is also the oldest in King County.

The park hosts various sports facilities, an off-leash dog park, and a velodrome. You can also enjoy hiking along the trail, rock climbing, and fishing is a popular park activity.

The park is also home to an annual concert known as Concerts at Marymoor. Every year the concert brings in big names to entertain the locals.

Other parks in the area include Bridle Trails State Park, Juanita Beach Park, and Lake Sammamish State Park. Multiple golf courses are in the area as well, including Bellevue Golf Course and Glendale Country Club.

While this lake lacks seclusion, it makes up for it by the vast amounts of activities surrounding Forbes Lake. Whether an individual likes sports, art, or the outdoors, there is something for them near the lake.
