Lake Frederick is under a 10-mile drive from Boyce, Virginia, and under 20 miles from Winchester.

The Dulles International Airport is under 65 miles away, and the Warren Memorial Hospital is under 20 miles for easy travel and medical care.

Secluded Escape

Spanning 117 acres, Lake Frederick provides its residents with the feeling of a smaller, secluded lake, allowing them to have a more excellent sense of privacy while on the water. The lake has a maximum depth of 50 feet and an average depth of 20 feet.

Excitement on the Water

Lake Frederick has plenty to keep its residents busy. Residents can swim and boat around the lake, and anglers will enjoy the local populations of largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, black crappie, channel catfish, and northern pike.

There is adequate bank fishing access at the breast of the dam and around the lower end of the lake. Boat anglers are welcome, but gasoline motors are prohibited. Only electric trolling motors are allowed.

Fun on the Shore

There is plenty to do on the shores of Lake Frederick. The most popular nearby attraction is the State Arboretum of Virginia. In the Arboretum, visitors can walk the grounds and view the beautiful trees and flowers that grow throughout the 172-acre facility.
