Claytor Lake is a 4,472-acre, 21-mile-long reservoir on the New River around 60 miles from Roanoke.

The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport is the closest for travel, and the LewisGale Hospital Pulaski and the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center are close for medical care.
