West Hill Pond

West Hill Pond is a beautiful body of water covering 48 acres in Cabot, Vermont. For a city trip, Montpelier is under 25 miles away.

It is approximately 20 miles west of St Johnsbury, home to many restaurants and shops and the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. The Burlington International Airport is about 60 miles from West Hill Pond.

A Hidden Beauty

Located outside of town, West Hill Pond offers lake recreation with peace and privacy. Over half of the lakeshore is left natural, and homes are well-spaced across its southern shore.

Kayaking and canoeing are very enjoyable on the serene waters with sights of ducks, geese, and other native animals. Anglers catch a variety of fish from the lake and partake in ice fishing.

Around Town

Cabot is famous for the production of Cabot Cheese, named the “Best Cheddar in the World.” The Cabot Farmers Village Store in the town of Cabot features a large selection of Cabot cheeses and dips.

Depending on the season, Burtts Apple Orchard features several different types of apples, along with pears, cherries, pumpkins, and more. At the stand, you can purchase cider by the jug or in the form of a slushy.

The Great Vermont Corn Maze, the largest in New England, is just a half-hour from Cabot. The Big Maze spans 24 acres and takes around three hours to complete.

The nearby Woodbury Golf Course is an 18-hole course tucked away in the woods. Golfers like keeping this peaceful gem a secret.

Visit Montpelier

While in Montpelier, check out the Vermont State House, offering tours of the numerous, elaborate rooms and architecture. The statehouse contains murals from the Civil War.

Next, visit Camel’s Hump for a hike through nature. This mountain is the second highest in Vermont and is considered one of the best hikes in the state, offering brilliant views.

Lastly, visit the Vermont Historical Society Museum, featuring tours and artifacts of the American Revolution, Native Americans, and the history of Vermont.
