Around the Area

Located a short five-minute drive from the lake, Quechee State Park is a must-see for nature enthusiasts. The park offers self-guided and trekker hiking experiences from “easy” to “advanced” along paved and unpaved routes.

The most iconic destination of the park is Vermont’s deepest gorge, boosting a 165-foot drop to the Qttauquechee River. The gorge was formed by glacial activity approximately 13,000 years ago. Visitors can experience this amazing national landmark by taking a relatively easy in and out 2.7-mile hike.

If walking and hiking are not really your speed, there are also numerous biking trails offered along paved and unpaved routes. For the long haulers, the park offers a scenic 18-mile paved biking trail following the Ottauquechee River and climbing 676 feet along the way.

For those who prefer a gateway to the greens, The Quechee Club offers two world-class courses, known as Lakeland and Highland. Constructed in the 1970s, the course has seen the avid golfer to the amateur golfer on its mixture of well-groomed and scenic grounds.
