The closest location for high-speed watersports is Lake Wallenpaupack, a 5,700-acre all-sports lake, 33 miles west of Mountain Lake. There is no horsepower limit, so water-skiing, jet-skiing, tubing, boating, swimming, and more are possible here.

The lake is also a popular weekend fishing spot. Species that inhabit Wallenpaupack are smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, pickerel, yellow perch, trout, striped bass, channel catfish, and a variety of panfish.
