    Biglow Lake is a 42-acre lake that is a little under three hours from New York.

    The lake is located in Mount Pleasant Township, which is around 30 minutes from Wayne Memorial Hospital and an hour from Wilkes Barre Scranton International Airport. Arlo’s Country Store is 20 minutes away and is the best place for Biglow Lake residents to stock up on groceries and snacks.


    Anglers here have caught crappie in the past. There are private docks on many of the lakeside properties for kayaking and canoeing.


    Avid hikers can explore the scenic Tanner Falls, which is within a half-hour of Biglow Lake. A small road leads hikers to a large waterfall, flowing over steep stone walls and into a small pond.

    Alternatively, Back Falls, to the north of the lake, is a popular hiking destination. Though Buck Falls is private, it can be accessed with the owner’s permission.


    Biglow Lake residents can enjoy grabbing a bite to eat and/or a drink at the Red Schoolhouse, The Beacon Bar & Grill, Shirley’s Family Diner, or the Fishing Hole Bar & Grill.
