    About Bear Creek Lake
    Luzerne County, Pennsylvania

Bear Creek Lake is a 160-acre lake located in peaceful Bear Creek Village, Pennsylvania.

Named for Anne César, chevalier de la Luzerne, the French minister to the United States during the American Revolution, this county has a population of around 317,000. The city of Philadelphia is just under two hours south of Bear Creek Lake.

The closest major airport is Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport that is 37 minutes north in Avoca, Pennsylvania. Urgent care can be found at St. Luke’s Hospital-Lehighton Campus, 20 minutes south in Leighton, Pennsylvania.

    Happy Medium

At 160 acres, Bear Creek Lake offers its residents privacy and plenty of lake fun.

The curved shape of this lake makes it the perfect location for a morning kayak or canoe ride. Anglers can expect to find chain pickerel, largemouth bass, and rainbow trout.

    Local Entertainment

If you’re feeling lucky, head to Mohegan Sun Pocono, a relaxed casino resort and racetrack set on over 400 acres in Wilkes-Barre.

Visit Eckley Miner’s Village in Weatherly for guided tours on the history of coal mining in the area. This preserved mining village is a great place for the family to get an interactive history lesson.

    Explore Nature

Hickory Run State Park is the closest place to experience Pennsylvanian nature to the fullest. Explore its boulder field, fish its trout streams, or hike to Hawk Falls.

Seven Tubs Nature Area is extremely popular among beginner hikers for its easier trails. Seven Tubs also rewards those who make the trek with its shimmering waterfalls.

    Visit Philadelphia

Beyond its historical significance, Philadelphia has more than meets the eye. Visit the iconic Rocky statue. Built in honor of Sylvester Stallone’s “Rocky III,” this statue makes for a great photo opportunity.

The Liberty Bell is a must-see historical destination, but the lesser-known Independence Hall bears similar significance. Independence Hall is where the Declaration of Independence was signed and was the starting place for America’s Revolution against England.

After a long day in the city, grab a bite to eat at the 127-year old Reading Terminal Market. Even if a Philly Cheesesteak isn’t your thing, this market offers a variety of different cuisines.

    Excellent Location for Lake Life

Whether you are looking to buy a family home, a full-time retirement residence, or a waterfront property, Bear Creek Lake is an excellent choice.
