Lake Trace is located in Lee County, North Carolina, 10 miles outside of Sanford. It is 315 acres with seven miles of shoreline. Lake Trace is the centerpiece of the Carolina Trace private community. The area is untouched through conservation efforts, giving gorgeous nature views. It is only 35 miles from Fayetteville, North Carolina.

On the Water

The environmental protection efforts only allow for electric motors on the lake. Residents can also enjoy pontoon boats, kayaks, sailboats, and canoes on the lake. There is a marina on the lake that provides non-lakeside members access to the lake. Residents can also store boats here.

Residents also have access to fishing on Lake Trace. Anglers can expect to find largemouth bass, catfish, blue catfish, sunfish, carp, crappie, and more. Tenants can cast their line from their personal docks or their boats.

Fun Around Town

Golf enthusiasts will be at home at the Carolina Trace Country Club. Nestled within the community, it boasts two 18-hole tournament golf courses. The Clubhouse offers various amenities such as a bar, ballroom, fine dining, and a fitness facility.

Nearby Sanford offers shopping, groceries, pharmacies, and more for essentials. Try out local cuisines such as Bay Breeze Seafood, Smoke and Barrel, and Big “T’s” Restaurant.

Down the road from Lake Trace is Fayetteville. Here you can visit the 1897 Poe House, the last house of Edgar Allen Poe. You can also go to Cape Fear Regional Theatre and the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. To eat, try out Pharaoh’s Village, Marybill’s Cafe & Elbow Room, and Mission Bbq.
