    Silver Lake is separated from nearby Cranberry Lake by a little under 1,000 feet of land.

    Cranberry Lake is a relatively large lake, covering 6,975 acres with 55 miles of shoreline. The lake initially got its name for the extensive cranberry bogs that it once contained.

    Fish species in the lake include brook trout, smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, and brown bullhead.

    The Cranberry Lake Wild Forests encompasses 25,671 acres on the eastern shore of the lake. It contains 6.2 miles of roads, 26.9 miles of foot trails, 9.3 miles of snowmobile trails, and 12.6 miles of ski trails.

    There are primitive camping sites, hunting/trapping areas, and a fire tower on the summit of Mt. Arab for visitors to enjoy.

    Five Ponds Wilderness, William C. Whitney Wilderness, High Peaks Wilderness, Independence River Wild Forest, and Sargent Pond Wild Forest are nearby if you want a new piece of the wild to explore.
