Indian Lake is a 12 mile long, 4,225-acre body of water hidden in between the rolling hills and mountains of New York’s Adirondack Mountains.

Indian Lake is located in the Town of Indian Lake, a tight-knit community that takes pride in its heritage and traditions. The town was established in 1858 and is located in Hamilton County. It has a relatively small population of approximately 1,400 people.

Activities are offered year-round, including winter recreation such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing.

You will see plenty of whitetail deer, raccoons, and even possibly a moose or two for those who enjoy wildlife viewing.

This lake is abundant with diverse water life, so look forward to catching fish such as sunfish, rainbow trout, yellow perch, largemouth bass, and northern pike.

Powerboats, rowboats, canoes, and sailboats are allowed on Indian Lake.
