Covering approximately 350 acres, Stinson Lake is the largest body of water in the White Mountains Forest. It has an average depth of 35 feet but can be as deep as 77 feet.

Residents and visitors enjoy boating, water skiing, sailing, fishing, and swimming across these beautiful waters. Anglers can reel in smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, brook trout, or brown bullhead from the cold and warm water fishery.

The 2,900-foot Stinson Mountain overlooks the lake. You can hike or bike through its forest of pine trees, white birches, and sugar maples to seek unbelievable views. During the winter season, the mountain becomes a location for cross-country skiing or snowboarding.

The Tenney Mountain Ski, Snowboard, and Tubing Park is perfect for all skill levels. It has 40 different trails to suit a beginner or an expert.

The whole family will enjoy exploring the Polar Caves Park in Rumney, where you can follow stairways and boardwalks into the deep crevices made by the last ice age.

Concord, the capital city of New Hampshire, has lots to offer residents of Stinson Lake.

The top attraction is the independently owned Red River Theatre. This theatre offers screenings of independent films as well as classic movies.

Those more interested in live performances should head to Capitol Center for the Arts. There they will find ballet, country, rock, and Broadway performances.

Another attraction is the Mcauliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, named after Christina Mcauliffe and Alan Shepard. This museum features interactive indoor and outdoor exhibits as well as a planetarium.
