    Swanzey Lake is a spring-fed lake that covers 108 acres and has three miles of shoreline. It can be as deep as 50 feet but is 26 feet on average.

    The lake is a fun-filled destination offering boating, water skiing, fishing, and swimming. The area is promising for trout, smallmouth bass, bluegill, yellow perch, and bullhead.

    Richardson Park offers a buoyed swimming beach, a fishing pier, and a kayak/canoe launch on the south end of the lake.

    If you are looking to explore the outdoors, try the 2.5-mile, lightly-trafficked road that circles the whole lake.

    Located just 10 miles away is Keene, New Hampshire. Kenne is a college town that is home to shops, restaurants, hotels, and medical clinics to meet your everyday needs.

    Exploring the many nearby covered bridges is a great outing during the fall when the weather is beautiful, and the leaves are brilliant colors.

    Keene is a host to Elijah’s Race, a 13-mile run that loops through 4 of the nearby covered bridges. The Ashuelot Rail-Trail is a 21-mile trail that passes through the Swanzey area that can be used for hiking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, dog sledding, snowmobiling, and more.
