Balch Lake, also called Balch Pond, crosses the New Hampshire-Maine border.

Named in honor of Charles Carroll, who signed the Declaration of Independence, this county has a population of around 48,000. The city of Concord is around 90 minutes away.

The closest major airport is Portsmouth International and is just over an hour away. Urgent care can be provided at Goodall Hospital in Maine, 35 minutes away.

Near the town of Bartlett within the White Mountain National Forest is Diana’s Baths. The Baths are a series of smaller waterfalls that offer a hike that is less than a mile to get to the base of the stream that feeds into them.

Concord, the capital city of New Hampshire, has lots to offer residents of Balch Lake.

The top attraction is the independently owned Red River Theatre. This theatre offers screenings of independent films as well as classic movies.

Those more interested in live performances should head to Capitol Center for the Arts. There they will find ballet, country, rock, and Broadway performances.

Another attraction is the Mcauliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, named after Christina Mcauliffe and Alan Shepard. This museum features interactive indoor and outdoor exhibits as well as a planetarium.
