Lake Elmo is in the northeastern corner of Billings, the largest city in Montana. The city has been booming since it was founded as a railroad town in 1882.

Today, it offers a variety of restaurants and shops along with schools and friendly neighborhoods. It is also home to Saint Vincent Healthcare.

Lake Elmo is a 64-acre expanse within the city limits of Billings. Elmo State Park makes it easy for everyone to enjoy the beautiful waters.

The lake welcomes all non-motorized watercraft: kayaks, canoes, sailboards, paddleboards, and small fishing boats. A boat ramp and car park are on the northern shore.

The park includes a large, pristine beach where swimming, floating, and sun tanning are popular activities.

A 1.4-mile trail wraps around the lake and a playground, fishing pier, restrooms, and a 200-acre dog park.

Fun on the Town

Billings is a popular host of rodeos, concerts, and theatrical performances. Its museums help share its history and appreciation for art.

The Nile Stock Show & Rodeo, Burn the Point Car Show & Parade, and the Montana Fair are some of its most popular events.

Its top attractions include ZooMontana, Pictograph Cave State Park, Moss Mansion Museum, Oasis Waterpark, and Sacrifice Cliff.
