About Lake Of The Oaks

The Midwest’s Premier Lake Destination

Lake of the Ozarks is a world-class destination in the heart of Missouri. It is home to dozens of lakeside restaurants, resorts, and marinas.

Its bordering towns have everything from gas stations to shopping malls. The Lake Regional Hospital is in Osage Beach. Head to Kansas City or Saint Louis for access to an international airport.

Picturesque Landscapes

Being set in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, the lake features tall rocky bluffs along with many secret swimming holes.

It is known as the “Coast of the Midwest” because it has a longer coastline than California. Its vibrant blue waters also give it a coastal feel.

The lake was created by a human-made dam on the Osage River in 1929. It was opened up to the public in 1931 and has been a recreational sensation ever since.

A Recreational Paradise

The waters of Lake of the Ozarks expand across 55,000 acres and host lake activities of all kinds. Powerboating, pontooning, water skiing, parasailing, fishing, and swimming are just a few of the local favorites.

Its many branches and coves make it an exciting place for kayakers and canoers. You are likely to find a hidden cove or secluded beach.

Anderson Hollow Cove, better known as Party Cove, is the party spot of the lake. Hundreds of weekenders will pile into the cove for boating, swimming, and socializing. Lake of the Ozarks State Park offers two public swimming beaches and shaded picnic areas.

Lakeside Attractions

Lake of the Ozarks is home to countless restaurants and bars that have places to dock your boat.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park offers tours of the Ozark Caverns along with 12 scenic hiking trails.

The Osage Beach Outlets are the most popular shopping destination, but there are tons of other stores, antique malls, and flea markets across the area.

The Best of Lake Life

It does not get any better than life on Lake of the Ozarks, where there are an abundance of blue waters, lake activities, and attractions.
