A Lightly Developed Lake

Lower Mission Lake is a lightly developed 724-acre lake located in Center Township, Minnesota. A city trip to Brainerd is only 15 miles away.

The area that later became Center Township is home to one of the first settlements in Crow Wing County. In 1857, Reverend Ottomar Cloeter moved near the mouth of Mission Creek in response to an appeal for a missionary to come to this part of Minnesota.

The Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport is 17 miles away, and there are two medical care options within 15 miles: the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center - Crosby and the Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center.

For international travel, the Duluth International Airport is under 140 miles away.

1,500 Acres of Outdoors

Lower Mission and its sister lake, Upper Mission, span a combined acreage of 1,500. There is plenty of space for residents on either lake to explore and relax.

There are publicly accessible ramps on both lakes for watercraft. The Lower Mission access point is off County Road 115, and the Upper Mission access point is off County Road 109.

Fishing is a popular pastime on both lakes, with northern pike, walleye, and bluegill being the most populous. Anglers can also find an additional 24 types of fish here!

Water sports are another well-worn activity on the Missions. Activities like water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, and swimming are great ways to spend the summer.
