Green Lake, also known as Big Green Lake, is the largest lake in the Chisago Area. Chisago City can meet your daily needs with restaurants, grocery stores, repair shops, salons, and more.

Forest Lake is just a few miles south, where there are chain restaurants and shops along with Walmart and Target. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, United Hospital, and an endless list of attractions are less than an hour away in Minneapolis.

Over 1,800 Acres of Water

The beautiful waters of Green Lake stretch across 1,810 acres, have a maximum depth of 32 feet, and are nine feet deep on average.

Around its 16 miles of shoreline, there are homes, cabins, rentals, and the Ojiketa Regional Park. There are public boat launches on the north and south end of the lake.

Boating, Fishing, and Swimming

Green Lake is open to all water activities, with boating, fishing, water skiing, wave running, tubing, and sailing being the most popular. When fishing, you have chances to catch walleye, largemouth bass, bluegill, northern pike, and black crappie.

On Green Lake, Ojiketa Regional Park features a swimming beach, fishing dock, and marina. It's a 70-acre forest filled with hiking and biking trails, and you can stay overnight in one of its cabins or your tent.

Fun Off the Water

Winehaven Winery is across from the lake where fine wines and sweet honey are produced. The facility hosts tours, tastings, and a variety of events.

Some of Chisago City's best dining will be at The Northern Lake Tavern & Grill, Wagon Wheel Cafe & Pizza, and Gustaf's on Main Eatery.

In Minneapolis, you can shop at Mall of America, ride a coaster at Nickelodeon Universe, hike out to Minnehaha Falls, or observe modern art at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.
