Clamshell Lake

Located Between Crosslake and Jenkins

Clamshell Lake is a quaint body of water in the Whitefish Chain of Lakes. The collection of lakes are known for their recreational opportunities along with many lakeside resorts and restaurants.

Crosslake is the place to go for grocery shopping, dining, or other basic needs. Families will also appreciate the Crosslake Community School.

The Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport and the Essential Health Saint Joseph Hospital are approximately 25 miles south.

A Relaxed Environment

Clamshell Lake covers 211 acres, while the Whitefish Chain of Lakes covers another 14,000 acres.

There is the Clamshell Beach Resort, Tip Top Resort, and Clamshell Boat Launch around the lake.

Off the main stretch of water, Clamshell Lake is an excellent place for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, or just relaxing. It is a smaller lake, but that doesn’t stop some from water skiing or tubing.

From Clamshell Lake, you can boat to Bertha Lake and then the even larger Upper and Lower Whitefish Lake waters.

The Rollie Johnson Recreation Area takes up an entire island, featuring a beach, nature trails, and camping areas.

Nearby Attractions

Whitefish Golf Course, located just below the lake, features lush greens, towering trees, and a great pro shop.

Foothills National Forest is nearby, where there is endless hiking, biking, offroading, and more.

There are attractions like Three Bear Waterpark, Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf, Mount Gull Ski Resort, and Buffalo Hills Park in Brainerd.
