There are fun water activities for anyone to experience a relaxing day out on the water in a family-friendly environment. There are several shops to browse through and restaurants with dine-in options for friends and family creating a great night out. Located 7.7 miles southeast of the lake is the Pontiac General Hospital providing emergency and general medical care 24/7. They provide various medical services to all patients working to build a healthier community and give them a better quality of life. The emergency room is open at all hours of the day. The Oakland County International Airport, located 6.5 miles southwest of the lake, features great flights with airlines that provide wonderful services and other amenities within the airport. All airlines provide services accommodating to all passengers’ needs creating a safe, comfortable flight. Within the airport, they offer free wifi, small shops, and restaurants to all customers before and after flights.

Outdoor Recreation Activities

On the water, there are many water activities for all ages to enjoy experiencing a wonderful day outdoors. Although it is a private lake, everyone can partake in all water sports such as canoeing, kayaking, and motor boats are allowed. Boaters and fishermen can expect to find a variety of fish species such as largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, black bullhead, pumpkinseed, common carp, and other types of bass. For several outdoor sports activities, the Sashabaw Plains Park offers a 15-acre park that is open from April to October 31. It offers a playground, baseball fields, horseshoes, 4 square courts, basketball courts, volleyball, picnic tables, and bathroom facilities. Everyone in the surrounding areas can have a fun-filled day with friends and family. The park can be found 1.3 miles north of the lake. The Drayton Plains Nature Center, located south of the lake, features picnic tables, grills, pavilions, ponds, and trails. There are places for people who love to fish in the ponds around and trails for hiking. Everyone can enjoy different activities outside with great company.

The Fountains Golf & Banquet features a public 18-hole golf course with a few different challenging courses for all skill levels. The golf center offers food and beverages while anyone is out on the course. They offer golf packages for corporate and private functions, as well.
